Certified Gate Installers Named
Two Baton Rouge area gate operator dealers were recently named
“Certified Automatic Gate Operator Installers”. Matthew
Stirling of Gate’R’Open and Nick Hale of Security Access, two
Southeast Gate Operators customers, recently took and passed
the “CAGOI” exam given at the 2nd quarter American Fence
Association’s Gulf South chapter meeting held in Point Clear,
Alabama. The exam is designed to educate and certify
installers in the field of gate operators and access controls
installation as part of the AFA’s effort to improve the
quality and integrity of the gate operator and access control
industry.
The AFA has legislative actions in the process to make it
mandatory for ALL gate operated systems to have a "certified
installer" doing the work and the installation will require
the installer to meet the UL-325 and ASTM-F2200 Standards.
These standards provide guidelines and recommendations
regarding the installation of automatic gate operators on
commercial and residential gates and we hope will soon be part
of the national building code.
